Job Description

We are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with both a creative and project management brain to help drive interior design projects from concept to completion. As Intermediate Designer, you will be responsible for working alongside the Principal delivering projects; creating beauty and seamless functionality in line with the MMID brand.

The ideal candidate is an organized problem solver, self-motivated with a proactive communication style, forward thinking with details and schedules relative to project delivery. You are unafraid, in fact enthusiastic, about managing the minutiae - budgets, schedules, vendor oversight, procurement, construction administration, ensuring details are executed to meet project objectives.

Job Requirements

YOU MAY BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF:

You have at least 5 years of hands of high end residential experience
You are an experienced and confident designer who knows, from the gut, what a design decision should be and are able to articulate to the team and clients the “why”.
You pursue excellence in the quality of your work, and in all documentation and client-facing communication.
You are able to see the implications of decisions in one area, and how they will impact other parts of the project.
You have an innate sense for what takes design from good to great.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years work experience in high end residential design
Highly proficient in AutoCAD; Proficiency in Revit and other programs a plus
Proficient in Excel, Ivy and/or Studio Designer
Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva a plus
Proven ability to create permit submittal sets, and finely detailed construction document drawing sets
Excellent verbal, written, and visual/digital communication skills
Highly proficient with macOS
Excellent time management skills
Experience taking construction projects from concept through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, procurement, and construction administration
Experience taking whole-house high-end custom furnishings projects from concept through sourcing, specification, procurement, and installation. Skilled in designing and specifying custom furniture and soft goods, with a high level of detail and accuracy.
Experience working with high-end showrooms, manufacturers, custom workrooms, and artisans is essential
Comfortable working collaboratively with team members digitally in addition to working 1:1 with the Principal in-person
Car, valid driver license, and proof of insurance
Comfortable with occasional overtime for physical installations/photoshoots. Ability to lift 40lbs for installation days, and receiving items occasionally.

This position is full time, in-office Monday through Friday.
