Job Description

studiocake is seeking a full-time Interior Designer to assist in all aspects of their assigned projects from initial concept through installation. They will assist all aspects of project activities in ensuring all deliverables and services are consistent with the design intent and studio standards.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable leading a team, have excellent graphic/written/verbal communication skills, and have a strong desire to excel and lead in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. High proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign and Photoshop are a MUST and non-negotiable.

While this is a remote position, you will be expected to complete site visits, project installs and project errands as required. studiocake is a Florida based company; Miami, Florida or NYC residents preferred.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and assist in daily operations for assigned projects concurrently.
Assist team with design concepts and creative direction.
Create/assist in developing drawings, mood boards and presentations.
Ability to field measure and document existing conditions.
Create floor plans, furniture plans and elevations in AutoCAD.
Design furniture and millwork via hand sketching and AutoCAD.
Prepare and maintain detailed project budgets and schedules in Google Suite and/or DesignSpec.
Source furnishings within specific parameters (i.e. materials, furniture, lighting, art, accessories, hardware, tile, plumbing, paint, etc.).
Vendor coordination to obtain samples, specifications and quotes.
Order procurement to tracking lead times and correspondence with vendors from purchasing to installation.
Assist team in coordination with all vendors and subcontractors to ensure that design intent, studio standards and budget are being met, including shop drawing reviews from various trades.
Conduct project site visits and project errands to ensure standards and schedules are met.
Assist team during project installations and styling.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
Minimum 4 years professional experience at an interior design firm and extensive prior experience with high-end hospitality + residential projects.
High-level proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Excel, Google Workspace and DesignSpec.
Professional experience in hospitality and residential furniture layouts, custom millwork/furniture, and shop drawings.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and design documentation.
Understanding of design/construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
Excellent organizational/communication/presentation skills and attention to detail.
Extensive knowledge in high-end vendor resources/trades.
Maintain a positive attitude with a growth mindset.
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
